Statement from the member:
I have high hopes that we can play a central role in meticulously conveying artistic works.

I feel nothing but gratitude for being made a honorary member of this splendid organization. Preserving the works of Japanese game creators, these numerous productions for posterity… I can hardly believe in something so wonderful.
While not limited to games, I have often found common reappraisals of modern Japanese arts and culture to be somewhat unsatisfactory. By this I do not mean that I want an insider’s point of view to dwell on nostalgia, but rather that I would like someone to, among other things, be able to fully and precisely explain to people who do not know why certain things are so beautiful.
It has not been even fifty years since the birth of home console games, but many of those who were involved in this revolutionary period are slowly disappearing. It is becoming too late for collecting and ordering the fruits of their experience, their stories, and their works, which are dwindling every day now.
I have high hopes for the Game Preservation Society to take up that role. To the best of my abilities, I will be extremely glad to support it.

Biography:
Koshiro began using a PC-8801 while in high school and got involved in the world of game music through dōjin productions and ear transcriptions of arcade game music. He was active as a writer for Micom BASIC Magazine (Denpa Publishing Inc.) under the name of ‘YK-2,’ while at the same time gaining recognition with his work at Nihon Falcom on the music for games such as Ys and Sorcerian. After his period of freelancing, he founded the game development company Ancient Corporation in conjunction with his role in the development of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Game Gear. In the 1990s, his efforts were mostly directed at music for games for Sega platforms, such as Street of Rage, among many others. In this time, he also occupied the role of director of development for some projects. Some of his later, most relevant works include the Wangan Midnight MAXIMUM TUNE and Etrian Odyssey series. He is currently expanding his activities to anime and other media, not limiting his work to games but rather moving across and beyond different genres. He is the president and CEO of Ancient Productions and the honorary president of the Japanese Game Music Orchestra (JAGMO).
